#NationalPizzaDay - First Pizza Hut Founded in Wichita

If you were looking for an excuse to order pizza for dinner tonight, look no further! ๐Ÿ˜ Today is #NationalPizzaDay, and since Pizza Hut was started right here in Wichita, KS, we have plenty of reason to celebrate! ๐ŸŽ‰

Quick Facts:

๐Ÿ• Started in 1958 by two brothers attending WSU

๐Ÿ• They borrowed $600 from their mom and converted a beer tavern into the original Pizza Hut

๐Ÿ• This building was located at Bluff and Kellogg

๐Ÿ• In 1977 they sold it to PepsiCo for $300 million

๐Ÿ• The original building is now a museum on WSUโ€™s campus! It is open to the public and admission is free. The museum hours run from 11am-5pm, Monday through Friday.

๐Ÿ• There are now 17,500+ restaurants worldwide

So whether you prefer Pizza Hut or another pizza franchise, I think we all deserve to have a slice tonight. ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ˜‹
